Monday 10am – 11:30am | Barrow

If you enjoy friendship, fellowship and food then come and join with us.

The group consists of people from Askam and different corners of Barrow so we have a rota to meet at different peoples homes. However, if for any reason we cannot go the person named on the rota then everyone is informed of the new venue.

We start at 10am with a time of prayer until 10:30am and then from 10:30 – 11:30am we have our Bible study.   If anyone would like a hot drink then come for about 9:45am, so we can start promptly at 10am.

open_bibleReading and studying the Bible has helped to strengthen our relationship with God, as we share about what God is saying to us through the verses studied. It has also helped us to understand more of the Bible as we study portions of the New and Old Testament together.

Being part of the house group has also helped to build relationships with each other as we support one another through prayer or practically.

We are able to share with one another experiences we have had during the week for praising God, i.e. meaningful conversations with family, friends, colleagues, etc., a problem previously prayed about that has been answered, or something read that has really spoke to them. This then encourages and uplifts each one of us.   We are also able to share some of the difficulties we may be facing by faithfully obeying what God is saying to us.

Please feel free to come and join with us any Monday, or if you want to know more about it then please come and speak to me. We would love to see you there.

Monday 8:00pm – 9:30pm | Dalton

We started our house group last year after moving into our new home in Dalton. We started with a few members who weren’t going to a house group of their own and we have developed from there. We meet every week on a Monday evening from 8pm and chat over a platter of tea and biscuits.

We generally start by discussing Sundays message and move onto any relevant topics that the group wants to talk about. Our aim is to grow in knowledge and obedience to God while also growing in love and fellowship with each other. Being in a house group also helps us to support one another in practical ways. We always finish each week with a prayer time together where we can pray for the needs of the church and thank God for what he has done in our lives.

We believe that our house group has served to enhance lasting friendships which have in turn strengthened our relationship with God. We have felt privileged to offer up our home this past year and we look forward to what the next year brings.

Tuesday 1:00pm – 3:00pm | Spring Mount Abbey Road (Ladies Bible Study)

The Ladies bible study meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 1-3 pm.  It is a time to dig into the bible and unpack what has been brought to us on a Sunday and from other teaching materials. Also to support in prayer and encourage each other, growing together as a community of women serving a great God.

A crèche is available most weeks, just let us know if you need this and we will be able to confirm that week.

Contact Ros for more information.

Tuesday 6:00pm – 8:30pm | Spring Mount Abbey Road (Youth Bible Study)

Every Tuesday evening from 6pm we start our youth cell group night with a meal together. This is a great opportunity to chat and get to know each other as well as share what’s been happening through the week.

After we’ve tidied away and got toddler toys out (a good way to serve other parts of the church), we split into secondary school and college age groups for discussion and fun based on looking at what the bible says to us today.

So if you are aged between 11 and 18 Tuesday night is a great place to grow together and become part of the spring mount community.

(Note that on the first Tuesday of each month we have Café Uganda between 7-9pm).

Contact Jonny Harrison for more information.

Tuesday 7:00pm (18-30s House Group)

House GroupWe host a weekly homegroup on Tuesday nights for people aged 18-30.

It is a chance for young people of similar ages to meet together, encourage one another and grow together in their relationships with God, as well as get to know one another better.

When we meet the main part of our time is spent following on from Sundays message, discussing some of the points that were made in further detail and particularly looking at how to directly apply the message to our every day lives.

We really believe it is important that as well as going to church on Sundays, we each spend quiet time with God as individuals through the week and so to encourage one another in this, each home group session starts off with a different individual sharing a thought from their personal quiet time.

We meet at our home every Tuesday at 7pm except for the first Tuesday of each month when we meet at Spring Mount on Abbey Road in order to support Cafe Uganda.  If you are interested in joining us or would like more info please speak to us after the service on Sunday!

Wednesday 7:45pm – 9:30pm | Dalton

Isabela and I started our Wednesday housegroup about five years ago and have enjoyed opening our home to anybody who wants to come. We like to offer a friendly, Brazilian welcome to all. We have studied a variety of subjects and topics over the years but recently we have been following on from the Sunday morning sermons.

Our small group setting gives a great opportunity for us to explore any of the themes and issues which arise from Sunday in a bit more detail. It is a safe, friendly environment where we can all contribute and learn from one another by sharing our experiences and what God has done for each of us. We are also able to offer great support to one another both by means of prayer and sometimes practically, as we become closer and build friendships. This has been invaluable through difficult times. We have also been able to rejoice with each other through good times and it has been great to see different members of our group grow in their love for and relationship with Jesus.

We meet every Wednesday night at 7.45pm until approximately 9.30pm. After an informal chat, cup of tea and often a special culinary treat, we read and study God’s Word together. We always ensure we have a time of prayer. We also make sure we have plenty of social gatherings too which help us relax and get to know each other better. These usually involve food! If you are interested to join our housegroup, please let us know as you will be more than welcome and we are always wanting new members.
