Baptisms at Spring Mount
22 May 2016
What a great night of celebration it was as we baptised Michelle, Peter, Cameron, Owen and Joseph. We loved hearing the difference God has made in their lives and seeing them take this step of obedience to Jesus.
Please pray for them as they try to follow Jesus ever closer each day.
CameronI decided to get baptised because I finally thought I was in the right place to do so. I have generally felt more comfortable with who I am in my faith ever since and I'm definitely glad I did it.
JosephGod has been a part of my life since before I can even remember, thanks to my Mum. And since then it has just been growing due to my family, Church and friends. I think the day that I actually asked God to come into my life for the FIRST time was at one of Liz Ridgeway's holiday clubs. Thank you Liz. I have been growing in maturity ever since and there have been definite stepping stones for me. Especially NGM summer school. This year has been a big test of faith as I have had to ask God to provide A LOT of money for me. And the church have made up the majority of that and I am so great full. Thank you. As I said on the day of my baptism, I have no reason to have been baptised so late, other than it being in Gods timing. I got baptised to show my family and friends that I am proud of my relationship with Jesus. 'Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' " - John 14:6
PeterI decided to get baptised because I'm a witness to Jesus and his love and power, on 2 occasions. The 'Because You're Loved Tour 2016' showed me how strong God's love is and I strongly believed it was time to anchor my self to God and be baptised. It was the best decision I have made and now I can help others to believe, and let them know God loves us all. No matter where you come from or what you have done.
OwenMy name is Owen and I've been coming to springmount for about 4 years now but previously had been coming on and off for the past 8 years. I grew up in a Christian family and said I was a Christian but didn't really know what that meant until I received the teaching that springmount provided for all its youth I've grown so much and I wanted to show this by being baptised. Since then my life has been blessed and I feel so much closer to God and the Holy Spirit.
MichelleWhen I think of how God has been my strength in my life, I think of the poem footsteps in the sand, I haven't always realised it but God has given me the strength to get through the difficult times and his love always, I felt very proud to openly say I love God and want to commit my life to him and to try and make him proud of me.
